ESPN Caribbean presents live coverage of The 2018 ESPYS Presented by Capital One on Wednesday, July 18, at 8 p.m. ET from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. The ESPYS will be hosted by trailblazing racecar driver Danica Patrick and will feature a star-studded lineup. Top celebrities from the sports and entertainment industry will gather to commemorate the past year in sports by recognizing major achievements, reliving unforgettable moments and honoring leading performers and performances. The 2018 ESPYS will air live on the ESPN Caribbean network and on ESPN Play – ESPN’s multiscreen live and on-demand streaming platform.
This year’s scheduled presenters include (in alphabetical order): Kate Beckinsale (The Widow), Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther), Alison Brie (Glow), John Elway (NFL HOF), G-Eazy, Jim Gaffigan (Noble Ape), Jennifer Garner (Peppermint), Olivia Holt (Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger), Trevor Jackson (Grown-Ish), Allison Janney (I, Tonya), Dan Marino (NFL HOF), Adam Rippon (Olympian), Mikaela Shiffrin (Olympian), Jon Stewart, Jessica Szohr (The Orville), Russell Wilson (Seahawks), and more.

Brit Critics’ Choice Award-winner Jorja Smith and cathartic pop singer/songwriter MILCK will perform during the show. Crown and the M.O.B. will return as The ESPYS house band. Additionally, Philadelphia Eagles’ Zach Ertz and Los Angeles Sparks’ Nneka Ogwumike will present the Capital One Cup to Tomas Hilliard-Arce from the Stanford University Men’s Soccer Team and Melissa Lord from the Stanford Women’s Tennis Team.
2018 ESPYS Nominee Highlights:
- Just as it occurred in 2017, none of the nominees for Best Male Athlete is returning from the previous year. 2018’s fresh slate includes AL MVP José Altuve, NBA MVP Finalist James Harden, Stanley Cup Playoffs MVP Alexander Ovechkin and three-time NFL MVP Tom Brady.
- American two-time Olympic gold medalist and World Cup alpine skier Mikaela Shiffrin is in the running for the Best Female Athlete honor. This is her second nomination for the award after being nominated in 2014. This year, she will compete with first-time nominees, fellow Winter Olympian Chloe Kim, WNBA MVP Sylvia Fowles and 2017 U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year Julie Ertz.
- After leading the Philadelphia Eagles’ to their first ever Super Bowl win, Nick Foles is nominated, for the first time, in the Best Championship Performance category. He is up against MLB World Series MVP George Springer, NCAA Final Four Most Outstanding Player Donte DiVincenzo and NBA Finals MVP Kevin Durant, who won the award in 2017.
- For the first time since 2004, two NBA players are going head-to-head in Best Breakthrough Athlete: Ben Simmons and Donovan Mitchell. They are joined by NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year Alvin Kamara and U.S. Open Champion Sloane Stephens.
- In Best Record-Breaking Performance, Aaron Judge enters the ring with three returning nominees: Tom Brady, Roger Federer and Diana Taurasi. Any of the four would be a first-time victor in the category.
- LeBron James is a returning nominee for Best NBA Player, gracing the category for a 14th-straight year. He is joined by James Harden, Anthony Davis and first-timer Giannis Antetokounmpo.
- Jordan Spieth is chasing his third Best Male Golfer award. He faces PGA and FedEx Cup champion Justin Thomas, Sentry Tournament Champion Dustin Johnson and Masters Champion Patrick Reed.
